Cancer.im the non profit social network for cancer patients by cancer survivors in collaboration with Viratech, Corp.(Symbol:VIRA) its technology and content production partner. presents "Cancer Diet - Understanding The Metabolic Origin of Cancer"

Endorsed by medical experts, and thought leaders on the subject of cancer including; Governor Tommy Thompson, and former United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (2001 to 2005). Who wrote about this book,

"I applaud my friend, Dr. Kevin Buckman's 39 year dedication and commitment to cancer research. In his latest book on Cancer Diet is about understanding the Metabolic Origin of Cancer. Dr. Buckman translates his immense knowledge of molecular biology and cellular metabolism while presenting it in an easy to understand format. This book is an important read." Tommy Thompson

There is mounting evidence that links the development and spread of cancer to metabolic conditions. Dr Kevin Buckman has reviewed thousands of studies and attended countless conferences over the last 3 decades on this subject

Cancer can be more effectively managed if the metabolic nature of this disease is discovered on an individualized basis. Each person is very different in metabolism and biochemical states. The past view point that cancer is genetic and there is little or nothing that can be done, has cost delays in the research that have been needed to better evaluate cancer as a metabolic problem.

This has also effected cancer prevention. Current lifestyles and many cancer treatments destroy or limit the body’s immune system and promote tumor cell energy metabolism, increase the acidotic hypoxic state, and metabolically allow cancer to progress.

Find the causes, find the cures. It does not appear to be that simple. Because the origin of cancer has been elusive for so long, this has affected research in many of the wrong directions. The obsessive belief in the genetic origin of cancer has misguided research for many decades. In the mid '70's after my two-year study of the origin of diabetes/cancer/heart disease, as well as autoimmune disease, I began to realize some of the origins of these diseases. I looked at the common link they had among these degenerative diseases. Since Western diseases were rare in China and Japan, I really looked at the metabolic causes of cancer/diabetes/heart/autoimmune disease as one problem. This consisted, I thought 39 years ago, that inflammation, problems of harmful food selection instead of food that heals. I also looked at the role of pollution in the environment. At that time, I lived in Los Angeles and would get asthma on smoggy days. Because asthma is a classic inflammatory disease, I really focused this problem in disease states.

I was already doing inflammation tests, looking at cells under the microscope that had inflammation in different disease states. I was also looking for markers for disease states. I thought there might be things in the Chinese diet that gave them a protective effect, and began to study soy, sea weeds and became more interested in the effects of pollution. Since the mid '70's, a wealth of information's been obtained to understand the function and importance of mitochondria. Dozens of gene changes and different cancers has led to the idea that cancer's not a single disease but a complex collection of many different medical problems.

Now there's a greater consideration for cancer as a disease complex rather than a single problem, and this is what's made it difficult to learn the origin of cancer. There's also been a lack of analyzing the personalized metabolic state for each person. By better understanding what the metabolic problems are for each person, we get a better understanding of what the potential solutions would be.
