Stuart Valentine worked in the Economics Department of the Midland Bank from 1964 to 1976 and is now Economic Adviser to the Stock Exchange. He writes regularly for banking publications. Mike McCarthy is Manager's Assistant at a branch of the Midland Bank and has lectured for the Banking Information Service.
