Words for All Time: Student's Letters to Holocaust Survivors

This book represents only a fraction of the many letters received by Holocaust survivors after speaking to students in elementary, middle and high school classrooms. But these few letters do express the breath of emotions and depth of understanding felt by students after listening to a survivor tell his or her story.

The New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education, created by state government, is charged with assisting schools to implement the mandate stating that all New Jersey students must be instructed in Holocaust and genocide education. We have commissioned this book so that the words, feelings and actions of the students inspired by an ever diminishing group of Holocaust survivors will never be lost.

It is also the desire of the Commission that this book be read by families and friends over the years, never to forget this human tragedy and to be used by teachers to help educate students against the evils of bias, prejudice and intolerance wherever and whenever they exist.
