Aircraft Maintenance: Additional FAA Oversight Needed of Aging Aircraft Repairs (Vol. II): RCED-91-91B

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided information on the aircraft repair station industry, focusing on the responses of 48 carriers and 35 independent repair stations to a questionnaire regarding aircraft maintenance demand, constraints on maintenance supply, and carriers' compliance with airworthiness directives.
GAO presented: (1) a list of air carriers and independent repair stations that completed its mail survey of maintenance activities; (2) responses to its air carrier survey; and (3) responses to its independent repair station survey.
