How Johnny Can Read

This book is meant to be easy reading. It is very short but contains interesting stories and situations that all parents can relate to. It points out some of the things our little children try to teach us when they first start to learn to read. It shows some of the illogical and horrible things that we do to them as developing readers; things that do not even enter our minds as being of any consequence. It points out the staggering costs at state and federal levels that are yielding little improvement in our children's reading abilities. The books lays out the necessary changes that, if done, will present our children with a pure phonetic reading system, a system that will enable them to read quickly and effectively At first sight, because we do not like to see changes, the changes look drastic, but upon close examination the changes can be seen as minor and easily implemented.
