"Madre / Montaña / Jazmín" (Crónica de 1973) is a two volumes historical novel on chilean political events (Allende / Pinochet) observed by the narrator from Paris, where he is exiled since 1969. There is an esthetic game between writing and painting following Klee and Kandinsky theories on art. This fact explains the presence of images and colours in the book, and also the contrast between the black and white photography of the first volume cover and the full colour picture (painted by the peruvian painter Braun-Vega) of the second volume cover. Even the square dimension choosed as trim size for the book, fits to this esthetic purpose.
