Dynamics of Thin Walls in Regions with Stress-Energy

This is a study of the dynamics of thin sheets of generic stress-energy in some non-vacuum spacetimes. Called domain walls, they may have contributed to structure formation in the early universe. Those studying brane theory, a generalization of string theory, have found such analysis useful in their research. The work was the author's dissertation, completed in 1989 in satisfaction of the requirements for the Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Florida.
