"“The Beatles?” A smile stretched across his stubbly, unshaven face as his fingers began to stretch across the strings. My face lit up, because I knew I had been right. “You say you want a revolution,” we began. My mom laughed, my voice so young and innocent singing as loud as I could, against my father’s, whose was smooth and worn, we were an odd combination. Surprisingly the songs always turned out sounding better than we would have thought. “Well you know, we all want to change the world.” I guess for my age, I had a strange taste in music. I found typical children’s music boring, and I wanted no part of it, especially after the first time I had heard my dad sing to me. By five years old, I could sing with The Beatles, rock out with Queen, boogie with the Bee Gee’s, and belt out Billy Joel. I always thought it was a bit strange for so many people to stop and listen to me sing, because I thought it was normal. Apparently it wasn’t."
