A king will rise in S. P. Muir’s sprawling fantasy debut, The Talisman of Wrath.
The peaceful Arliens have lived in self-imposed exile for more than five centuries. Five hundred years before, the Arlien king relinquished his crown and led his people in secret to the Sacred Hills in order to protect them from the man who now rules.
But all of that changes when an ancient hermit brings news that the king, using the full force of his godlike powers and massive army of half-humans, has determined to wipe out the Arliens entirely in order to secure his place on the throne.
All seems lost until the hermit tells the Arliens of a special weapon, forged during the dawn of the ages, powerful enough to resist the king’s evil forces.
But the sword, called the Talisman of Wrath, is dangerous in and of itself. Only the touch by the true king can unlock its powers—anyone else who attempts to wield it will die instantly.
Unfortunately, the rightful heir of the original Arlien king is unknown. Is it the gentle and wise Eldore? Or is it his identical twin brother, the reckless warrior Eh’lorne?
