In the second instalment in the Swallow series, you are invited to travel across Peru and Ecuador in the crevasses of Keddy’s brain as he wades his way into the light at the end of the sewage tunnel.

Swallow the Sea introduces Keddy and Poppy to a brand new cast of colourful and kooky characters as they explore their own relationship, which faces low rivers and high mountains, leading to a surprisingly shocking outcome.

Told from Keddy’s point of view, in a stream-of-conscious first person narrative, the reader hitches a ride in the distorted, sarcastic and hilarious crevasses of Keddy’s brain as he road-trips through Peru and Ecuador with his long-term girlfriend, frequenting a plethora of dingy hostels along the way. Its narrative follows the couple’s adventures as they explore their own relationship, leading to thunderous laughs and deal-breaking verbal collisions.

Swallow the Sea is Less than Zero smashed into A Million Little Pieces and stuffed into Catcher in the Rye. Although number two in a series, this rite-of-passage story can be enjoyed as a stand-a-lone piece, as well as rooted in its counterpart Swallow the Swell.
