Description

Whose Grief is it Anyway? For a child to die is not the natural order of things, and no parent expects to outlive their own child. The impact on families of losing a child is enormous. What, therefore, is the impact on staff who work in this environment? This book explores the issues for staff of working in a children's hospice environment. There is very limited research into this area and most focuses exclusively on the needs of care-giving staff. This book explores the needs of a cross section of staff including both professionals involved in care and those involved more widely accross the organisation, for example fundraising, administration and retail. Analysis of data identified that all staff, regardless of role, are affected by working in a children?s hospice environment. This book brings some important new evidence to light which has imlpications for organisations in palliative care and also those in other fields delivering care in an emotionally challenging environment.
