Friendly Photo Catalytic Degradation for some Phenolic Compounds

Some of phenolic compounds like chlorophenols can cause serious environmental problems. In particular, these compounds were introduced into the environment in the waste streams of several industrial operations, such as, pulp bleaching with chlorine, water disinfection or even waste incineration. Therefore the applications for metal oxide nanoparticles have been used to increase the photocatalytic property by influencing generation and recombination of the charge carriers under light.
