From the supplier: A return-to-work scale that helps insurers identify how to spend rehabilitation resources on disability claimants has been developed by Fortis Benefits Insurance Co and the Menninger Clinic. A Fortis source noted that the scale helps to quantify the type and cause of disability related to whether an individual returns to work. Fortis reported savings of $8,200,000 from moving people back to work and off of claims in 1993.
