This IDC study provides the Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) or APEJ IP PBX and IP telephone revenues and forecasts for 2003 to 2008. In 2008, the APEJ IP PBX market will swell to US$1,518.73 million at a CAGR of 44%, while the IP phone market will expand to US$478.95 at a CAGR of 52%. Avaya and Alcatel led the single-mode and dual-mode IP PBX market segments respectively in 1H04, while Cisco maintained its leadership in the IP phone market throughout 2003 and 1H04.
"It is not granted that vendors with precedent success in the traditional PBX space will surely succeed in the IP PBX market; it remains critical for these vendors to emphasize their ability to raise productivity, lower cost of ownership, and simplify networks by linking the enterprises' concerns on reliability and performance with their IP telephony solutions," says Grace Yeo, research manager, Enterprise Networks, IDC Asia/Pacific.
