Ex-Geek and the Prom Queen

The ex-geek didn’t want to go out for drinks after work. But it was Friday night and his alluring coworkers bribed him with promises of a thick steak and a cold brew. He followed them in his new car to an upper crust sports bar. The ritzy place was jammed with popular people. Then he saw a vision of loveliness from his past. She was the object of his every teenage dream. It had been four years since graduation and still she made his heart pound until he could barely think. Maybe tonight was the perfect night for a miracle. He dared himself to ask the Prom Queen for a dance. She looked him in the eyes. Then she tilted her head in that totally disarming way of hers. She smiled and said, "Yes."
