Description

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV a.k.a "Tom Cruise" (b. 1962) is one of the greatest movie actors of the modern era. There are few hollywood actors who have the ability to act out a character in such a way as to inspire people even in their everyday lives. He is one of the best at this. Not to exaggerate, many people are lawyers today because they watched Cruise as "Mitch McDeere" in "The Firm (1993)" or as "Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee" in "A Few Good Men" (1992). So also there are more than a handful of pilots in the navy today just because they watched "LT Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell" in "Top Gun" (1986). That said, this is not a biography or a book about plots or reviews of Cruise's films [I have another book for that]. This is a book that chronicles the films he has starred in as well as their budgets and earnings at the box office.

The information in this book is presented via different data tables (each sorted by year of movie release, movie title, budget and box office result), line charts that compare and contrast Cruise's Budget vs Box office results from 1980 till date and an array of bar charts that show details of the performance of his films from one period to the other.

Each of the charts are also accompanied by chart notes that draw all kinds of interesting inferences and insights from the displayed data that you might not have been aware of. While I have drawn my inferences based on the data, you are free to look at the tables and charts and make your own inferences as well.

As far as Mr. Cruise continues to make movies, this book will be available and will be updated as frequently as possible to show the latest budget and box office data. From time to time, I will also update the book with newer and more useful insights from the available data.
