"The Sandcastle Princess" is a story about a young girl and her family who share an active and imaginative day at the beach. The story begins when a family decides to spend a day at the beach. Not wanting to leave anyone home, the young girl (Krista) asks if she can bring the family dog. The girl, her parents and the dog load up the car and drive to a nearby beach.

Once there, the family enjoys a swim and a bite to eat. Afterwards the girl's father suggests that they build a sandcastle together and everyone agrees. Working together, the family is able to build a nice sized sandcastle. To comete their design, the family add a watery moat which causes something magical to happen.

The castle starts to grow wildly out out control until it becomes and actual castle. Krista transforms into a Princess with a crown and fancy cape. The Princess has two servants, a Court Jester and a Cook (who just happen to resemble her mother and father) that take care of her every need. As luck would have it, the Princess even has a horse that she can ride around her kingdom.

Everything is so much fun for Krista until a storm approaches and destroys her beloved castle.
