DOUBLE IDENTITY CASE

Our protagonists enter a new phase in their lives, Buck runs for county sheriff, and Honey is now in a relationship with Pastor Hope, the ex pastor of the local Methodist church. The drug cartel out of Miami attempts to get a larger foothold in this rural middle peninsular area of eastern Virginia. Buck receives threatening notes strongly advising him against running for sheriff. Then the ex-sheriff, who is of dubious character, is murdered and Honey is again enlisted in the State Police Reserve, taking the lead in the investigation of the murder. Eventually Buck joins him in this task along with federal authorities. The identity of the perpetrator is somewhat of mystery for a while, due to conflicting evidence. Honey continues to play pranks on Buck, his old boss in the DC Police Dept. There is some humor and a little romance mixed into the story.
