The Canter text appeals mainly to Civil Engineering students taking course work in environmental assessment practice or impact assessment, usually taught at the junior/senior level as a popular elective. Some chemical and environmental engineers take the course as well. The author has specifically beefed up and improved the chapters on biological, cultural, and socioeconomic environmental factors.
