Basic Applied Fluid Power: Hydraulics

Rapid expansion of the use of fluid power (hydraulics, pneumatics and fluids) in the industrial, mobile, and aerospace fields has created a need for instruction High schools, industrial schools, junior colleges, and adult education programs have not generally met this need. This workbook, "Basic Applied Fluid Power: Hydraulics," is intended to introduce and teach the basic principles of fluid power. Fluid power encompasses both hydraulics and pneumatics. This book deals principally with hydraulics. Inasmuch as the characteristics, applications, and uses of liquids (hydraulics) are quite different from those of ait (pneumatics), they must be covered by different textbooks. This book is constructed as a workbook; the text material is designed to introduce the basic principles of certain fundamental physical laws and the practical applications involved. The chapters on fluid power demonstrations and circuits deal with the function and operation of basic fluid power components, as well as their purpose and application.
