Make assessment an effective instructional tool by distributing copies of the appropriate rubrics for each Writing Workshop and Listening, Speaking, and Viewing Workshop to help students evaluate and revise their own efforts before submitting them for evaluation! "Rubrics for Assessing Student Writing, Listening, and Speaking" will help students see why a given piece of writing or listening, viewing, and speaking project does or does not meet the criteria described in each rubric. You can use a variety of approaches to assess and provide feedback for students' work with evaluation forms for teacher review, self-assessment, and peer review.
