This book provides a description of the various methods used to determine seismic velocity, emphasizing reflection profile data. The text also presents the geophysics and mathematics supporting these techniques in terms of the "slowness decompostion" methods pioneered by the authors. The descriptions contained aim to provide sufficient detail for the reader to be able to modify the techniques for their own needs, and to evaluate the results. Emphasis is placed on characterizing the accuracy of the various techniques and on the pitfalls of using them inappropriately.
