Management and Control of Production and Logistics 2000 (IFAC Proceedings Volumes)

This Proceedings contains the papers presented at the 2nd IFAC Conference on Management and Control of Production and Logistics held in Grenoble, France, on 5-8 July, 2000. Altogether over 200 papers are presented, covering recent developments in all areas of manufacturing and production systems and management. There are papers dealing with modelling tools and management, decision-making and control techniques. Such techniques, benefiting from the progress made in artificial intelligence, information and computer sciences, are now being implemented widely in new organisational structures. The wide-ranging application areas covered by this Proceedings include industrial automation, robotics and production systems, as well as management of the product, process and service life cycle with a view to sustainable development. The place of the human as operator, executor and decision-maker is reinforced as part of the robust control of systems subject to disturbances or fluctuations in their environment.
