Industrial Ecology and the Automobile

For courses in Industrial Ecology, or as a supplement in Mechanical Engineering courses on Internal Combustion Engines, or courses in Introduction to Engineering or Environmental Engineering. This new text uses the automobile, a major component of industrialized society, as a case study to examine the relationship between industry and environment. It examines the impacts of production and use, as well as the questions of designing with the environment in mind. Although the focus is on the automobile, the concepts, suggestions, and insights are appropriate to all technologies.
