DRAWING BASICS reaches beyond typical discussions of technique to emphasize discovery and perception within a carefully structured context. Using perceptual responses as the springboard, students become aware of their personal artistic learning and development process - a balance of attitude, confidence, state of mind and skill. All examples and illustrations contained in the text are student works, providing examples of others' accomplishments and allowing the student to set reasonable goals for his or her own work.
