The Political Economy of Poverty, Equity, and Growth: Five Small Open Economies (World Bank Comparative Study)

This work explores the economies of Hong Kong, Mauritius, Singapore, Malta, and Jamaica. The authors examine various aspects of the economies--from historical background to income distribution, from labor relations to capital formation. After a brief introduction containing background and notes on methodology, the book focuses on each individual country. These are followed by a comparative study which compares growth patterns, strategies for industrialization, and the role of natural resources.
