Starting Textiles

Textiles is one of the newer branches of Home Economics, and has firmly moved away from the old style needlework. This book approaches textiles through a sequence of practical projects - on elements of design, fabric, construction, consumer protection - without informational text. The projects progress in difficulty, so that the students accumulate skills and experience through activity-based learning. It is suitable for Home Economics students aged 11-14 and has some use for GCSE students.
