Part one of this yearbook includes a month-by-month guide to everything the stargazer can see in the forthcoming year: planets, eclipses, comets, meteors, nebulae, phases of the moon, and star charts for both northern and southern hemispheres. It also provides a list of astronomical events to watch for in 2000. Part two presents essays by internationally acclaimed authors.
