Research Methods for Nurses and the Caring Professions

This text is about the appreciation, evaluation and conduct of social research. Aimed at nurses, social workers, community workers and others in the caring professions, the book concentrates on relatively small-scale studies which can be carried out by one or two people, rather than large and well-resourced teams. The authors have provided many short, practical exercises within the text and particular emphasis is given to evaluative research including the assessment of the reader's own professional practice.
