Inspecting Schools: Holding Schools to Account and Helping Schooll to Improve

Based on a three-year study, this book examines what happens when schools are inspected. It explores the aftermath of inspection and the ways in which schools do (or don't) take up inspectors' challenges. The limits and possibilities of inspection as a mechanism for school reform are analyzed.
