Though the sheriff is as flat as his badge, the lead characters are a strong duo. K.N. Casper has written an enjoyable opening novel in the "Return to East Texas" trilogy that will leave fans anxiously awaiting for the follow-up books by Denny Fox and Eve Gaddy.
