Written for clinical laboratory scientists by working clinical laboratory scientists, this book contains 63 chapters with technical information that only those who work daily in a haematology laboratory can convey. The text stresses the physiology of blood cells, the etiologies of haematologic diseases, and the theoretical basis of laboratory procedures. Each chapter on disease includes information on the tests most often used to diagnose that disease (rather than grouping procedures at the end of the book), and emphasizes sources of error in the chapter. Each case study is followed by questions with the answers located in the appendix. In addition, this text has an extensive array of 355 illustrations, including a comprehensive set of colour plates.
