Manufacturing Systems Design and Analysis

Providing an introduction to the interdisciplinary function manufacturing systems engineering (MSE), this textbook is intended to demonstrate the systems aspect of modern manufacturing operations. This includes the systems concept of manufacturing operation, systems modelling and evaluation and structured design of manufacturing systems. It provides the reader with an overall framework of manufacturing systems design and evaluation. The book shows how to adopt structured, systematic approaches to the design and evaluation of a modern manufacturing plant, with the purpose of optimizing the performance of the whole factory.
