These 12 volumes represent a range of research from psychology and sociology in relation to the individual in the community. Amongst the titles reprinted are two works by Michael Balint, well known for his application of analytical technique to the problems of general practice and social work. Also available is David Tucket's excellent Introduction to Medical Sociology which considers ways that disease can be influenced by social factors. Themes explored in other volumes cover ways in which working environments affect (and are affected by) employee's mental and physical health, issues of residential care, and the significance of the community as a concept.
