A First Materia Medica for Homoeopathy: A Self-Directed Learning Text

Lists over 40 homoeopathic remedies - first aid remedies, the most common acute remedies and basic polycrests. The text does not include materia medica available elsewhere, nor does it list symptoms. However, in order to develop a homoeopathic perspective on the data, the author has introduced different approaches to data organization and different models of analysis and explanation. The material is organized to show the vast diversity in homoeopathic materia medica. Key features include: a student text which makes learning easier - by grouping remedies in ways which help the student to memorize and understand their characteristics and actions; questions appear within the text (and at the end) to allow regular self-assessment and revision of information; can be used in conjunction with "Introduction to the Principles of Homoeopathic Philosophy" (also by Margaret Roy) - to accompany the early years of a homoeopathy course; can also be used as a "refresher" or as a supplement to other materia medica; and line illustrations support the text to show the characteristics of each plant remedy source.
