Sediment Transport in Gravel-Bed Rivers

The heightened interest in gravel-bed rivers among scientists and engineers has been spurred by recent industrial utilization of water resources and forests in upland areas, as well as developmenat of these lands for recreational use. This book describes and quantifies the movement and storage of sediment in rivers with gravel-bed material based upon scientific and engineering principles. The material includes a selection of papers presented at a recent symposium, along with several discussions which develop and broaden coverage.
