Moral Controversies: Race, Class, and Gender in Applied Ethics

This text aims to make it possible to effectively integrate race and gender concerns into a moral issues course. Both conventional and radical orientations to issues of race and gender are presented throughout the text. Discussion material encourages students to participate, discuss and think about the tough moral problems they face in everyday life by presenting moral and social issues in concrete terms, focusing on diverse, real-life contemporary problems. Rather than presenting pro and con arguments on topics such as pornography, the death penalty, or gay rights, this text features extensive use of articles and cases concerning applications of those problems.
