It is 432 A.D. The Romans have left Britain. Order has gone and Saxon attacks are increasing in coastal areas. Augusta, a Romano-British matriarch, is living with her remaining family in an abandoned Roman fort. The privileged lifestyle she experienced in her youth continues to break up. Then a long-absent nephew, Patricius a man with a mission, arrives and invites Augusta and her family to emigrate to Ireland with him and begin a new life. Augusta accepts and this has consequences for her grandchildren, especially Julius and Catilina and great grandson Deas. What follows helps turn the tide of history.
