Lane is a well educated, beautiful African American professional woman, who is struggling with wanting to start a new relationship, but cannot seem to let go of her past failed relationships. One evening, on a girl's night out, Lane meets who she believes is her soul mate; Clay Roberts.Clay is equally as charming and good looking, Clay is the CEO of his record label, which was a life long dream come true. Lane was born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y. but moved south when her relationship with Andre (Dre) Floyd ended, due to Lane discovering his indiscretions, in the home they shared. Still reeling from the break up, Lane's best friend from college; Charmine Grant, who's a lawyer, moved to Atlanta as well. Not just dealing with the break up of Dre, Lane harbours feelings of guilt leaving her dad to look after her mother, who has been diagnosed with cancer, but can't seem to return to Brooklyn for fear of bumping into her past with Dre, and his present lover Renee. While in Atlanta Lane meets a young lady, Faizon Hill who handles her dad's deposit in the bank Lane works for, and the two have formed a friendship. Faizon is a true Southern Belle, and the three women at times share an explosive relationship. All three have suffered in one way or the other with unhealthy relationships, Charmine who was left at the altar by her fiancée, has worked on her self esteem and continually advises her two friends, not to look so hard for love. Sending the positive message if it's meant to be; it'll be. Her message received too late for Faizon, who was involved in an abusive relationship with a married man, who nearly killed her; but succeeded in killing their unborn child when he discovered she was carrying his child, and intended to go through with the pregnancy with or without him.
