Salads & Sips: Mixing it up with the Belhaven House and Garden Club

The Belhaven House & Garden Club of Jackson, Mississippi, is known among its members as "the garden club that doesn't garden." Instead, we like to socialize with our neighbors, so we have a party disguised as a meeting each month. One of our favorite party meetings is the one where we welcome new members with a potluck salad lunch. Every year, everyone asks everyone else for her recipe. So we decided to get this out of the way once and for all. We appointed a committee and asked everybody to give us ALL the recipes -- past, present and future -- that they might bring to the annual salad potluck, or that they prepare for family and friends. What members shared runs the gamut from treasured old family recipes to the latest trendy offerings. We don't really believe this is ALL of everybody's recipes, but it's a start!
