What do our students really know? Many of our young students struggle to retain what we want them to remember. Before obtaining our own classroom, we as professional educators and highly trained practitioners, have spent most of our lives as students struggling to retain what others have expected us to learn. It is only natural to impose upon our students the same process we experienced; somehow believing since we made it through the process they will benefit from the same. The problem is there are a multitude of learning styles, home situations and personalities which we are trying to impress our educational experience upon, and it is not working.
