This book is not a tour guide or standard travel guide. It is a pragmatic guide for the traveler, whom, by definition is not a tourist. Tourists are on short vacation, seeking luxurious accommodations while seeing local sites. Travelers have no timeline nor schedule, and are seeking local accommodations with all the flavoring surrounding the experience. Travelers are likely to know, or want to know the local dialect sufficiently for simple exchanges for personal needs, or more extended conversations for pleasure and deeper information and insights. I have included personal insights, along with the exchanges that took place which exemplify cultural biases and unwarranted fears. I also include updated realities concerning safety factors when traveling through Mexico. This book will fit nicely next to the standard Travel Guide for Mexico.
