Light as a Feather

Although it is virtually impossible for someone who has not suffered from an eating disorder or depression to truly understand what it is like, that does not mean empathy is impossible. Empathy begins with realization. One who has not suffered from these conditions must understand that it is not as simple as telling someone to “eat a sandwich” or “just smile.” To truly empathize, to truly help, one must realize that everyone’s situation is unique and there is not one cure all.
