This introduction to digital circuits for beginning electronics students offers coverage of basic digital concepts plus 46 actual digital projects that illustrate concrete applications. The digital projects are integrated into chapter content, and presented in both narrative and schematic form. Instructors may have students build any or all of the projects, however, their main function in the text is to support the learning of fundamental concepts. Coverage encompasses digital, combinational, and sequential logic circuits; as well as an introduction to microcomputer technology. Particular, thorough guidance is provided for topics that are often difficult for students: Boolean algebra, Karnaugh maps, flip-flops, and A/D-D/A converters.
