Free Flight

Set in America after the nuclear holocaust an ex-US Air Force pilot refuses to surrender to a corrupt new regime. Depending on his flying skills he attempts to outwit the Russian overlords in a desperate flight to freedom. The author also wrote "First Strike" and "Star Shot".
