Salt: A primer on Christian Influence in a Decaying Nation

God is beautifully, blindingly, burningly holy and man is helplessly, hopelessly, horribly sinful. Yet, cultural Christianity appears to be seeking some middle ground—attempting to update the New Testament to embrace sin that is culturally acceptable while attempting a relationship with the Lord. Like a dagger into the heart of God, culture influences His church, rather than His church influencing the culture. So what does the Lord want us to do about all the decay in our world? Does He want us to be polite and passive? Does He want us to be tolerant and tepid? Does He want us to stand by and do nothing? No. Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth….” Jesus wants us to become the salty church and help stop the rapid decay of our culture.
