Glenans Guides: Coastal Navigation

This guide is aimed at recreational sailors at all levels. Practical examples demonstrate techniques and technology, showing how to calculate one's position at sea, plan a course and plot the course sailed. Traditional techniques are also reviewed, including taking bearings and navigating in shallow waters.
