📖 Description
Grace MacInnis, the sole woman in Canada's Parliament from 1968 to 1972, not only was a spokesperson and champion of her gender, but also dedicated a lifetime to improving the condition of Canada's poor. Her work was in the tradition of her father, J.S. Woodsworth, the prophet in Canadian politics who founded the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation party, forerunner of the New Democratic Party. Grace's life, which spanned much of the twentieth century, reflects the issues and dilemmas faced by many women of her time.
