The Island Crop Dusting Company

This is a true story about a young barnstormer from New York who, in 1934, started an aerial crop-dusting company in Northern Maine, and an airport brat who just hung around and made himself useful. Both the barnstormer and the kid had their dreams come true, but in different ways. The characters in this story were typical of flyers who pushed the flight envelope through the thirties and forties. They became the backbone of training and staffing for U. S. Military Air Services and the airlines during the rapid build-up of air power just before, and following, the attack on Pearl Harbor.
