Introduction to Coordination Chemistry

Introduction to Coordination Chemistry is a chronological survey of the essentials of transition metal chemistry. With an emphasis on coordination and geometry, this text describes the structure and bonding of metal-complexes using the strengths, and pointing out the weaknesses, of VSEPR, Crystal Field, Ligand Field, and Molecular Orbital theories. This text includes numerous problems and exercises, and is designed for a 2-3 hr sophomore-level college course. Because of the larger scope of the book, including a chapter on organometallics, it is well-equipped for use as a concise supplement to the massive inorganic texts currently in use in upper-level undergraduate courses.
